Let’s face it — no book is perfect — and that includes The Shanty Piper, The Short Haul. As corrections come to my attention, I do my best to update my manuscripts. Improvements …

  • 2026 06-08 “C Natural” page XIII – The end of the first paragraph instructing how to play C Natural should end saying C Natural, not C Sharp.
  • 2026 06-09 “High-G Sharp” page XIV – I realized that “G Gracenote” toward the end of the paragraph is unclear.   The player should not make a G Gracenote while playing High-G Sharp, however the same finger as G Gracenote is up on the top hand while C (sharp) is formed on the bottom hand.
