Here’s how Don talks about
The Patriotic Piper …
“As a Highland bagpiper and grandson of 2 World War II veterans, and a relation of World War I vets, I am honored to be a member of the Scottish-American Military Society participating in Mt. Rainier Post #1889. My Post has a small pipe and drum corps — of which it is my pleasure to lead! During the summer of 2018 I began collecting tunes for our pipe & drum corps to use in performance that represented the Post and purpose of The SAMS. During the months that preceded publishing my debut recipe book, “Make Your Own Darn Good Cookies“, I realized I could put my book-writing skills and passion for piping together to benefit my Post. The more I dove into the researching the music I knew it would be interesting to include the history in the book with the tunes. The project grew in scope, further sharing Celtic heritage and culture, to include Scottish and Irish recipes. Members of Post 1889 got behind the book, many contributing to the work, along with other SAMS members and friends of mine. It was an amazing project to work on!”
Here’s Don’s other sheet music book “Make Your Own Darn Good Cookies” — including 3 original compositions and a little over 50 recipes you are going to love — mostly cookies!
