I have been playing Highland bagpipes since 1988 and have taught professionally since 2004 as time provides. My teaching strength lays in instructing beginning and novice pipers with my focus being on youth and early-adult players.
While I welcome drop-in lesson, I prefer to meet with students on a weekly basis. I require that regular students own and use certain materials including a quality practice chanter, a metronome, and a few particular texts. For progress in playing, I work with my students to develop a practice plan that fits within their time away from our lessons and expect my students to adhere to their plan as close as possible.
Please contact me if you are interested in lessons. If for some reason I am unavailable to teach, I do my best to help direct those seeking to take up Highland bagpiping to one of the various other local skilled instructors.
